Use of cookies

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file which can be saved by a website on your computer or mobile device when you visit that website. Each website uses these files to improve the browsing experience.

This way, we can save your preferences and you do not have to sign in each time.

This also helps us to know which pages are visited most often, what we can improve and how we can increase the speed of our website.

STIB/MIVB Policy regarding the use of cookies

STIB/MIVB uses cookies for one or several of the following reasons on its website. There several categories of cookies:

Cookies from our website itself which are required to ensure a safe and optimal connection to our website. These are called functional and technical cookies. They are related to the browsing experience (your language preference,…) or to the completion of the forms (if you tick the option “Remember my login credentials on this computer for a future visit”).

The cookies related to the language preference are stored until the 29/01/2019. All the other functional and technical cookies are stored for the duration of your visit.

We also use cookies to generate statistics. The cookies of the American company Google are thus stored on your computer through our website, as part of the Analytics service. These cookies make sure that we can make your web experience as pleasant as possible by better adapting our website to your behaviour.  This service is used for reporting on the visitors’ use of the website Experience.stib-mivb.be. Google can communicate this information to third parties if it is legally compelled to do so, or if these parties process the information on behalf of Google. We cannot do anything about that. Google undertakes to respect the Safe Harbor principles and the company forms part of the Safe Harbor programme of the American Ministry of Commerce. This implies that, according to Google, there is an adequate protection level regarding the processing of data which could be personal.
